Carly Phillips Dare to Love Tour (with Author Interview, A Review and Giveaway)

New York Times Bestselling Author Carly Phillips turns up the heat in her newest sexy contemporary romance series, and introduces you to the Dare family… siblings shaped by a father’s secrets and betrayal.

Since finding out his father had another family on the side, Ian Dare swore to be the upstanding, responsible man his cheating parent had never been.  When it comes to his relatives, he gives his all but in relationships he offers the bare minimum.  But one glimpse of sensual Riley Taylor arouses his dominant and protective instincts and Ian is entranced.  He will do anything to possess her … and does.  But any future with Riley must include him extending an olive branch to the half-brother who is a constant reminder of the pain he’d rather forget.

Independent and always in control, Riley Taylor makes no apologies for choosing men carefully.  Relationships have never been a priority and she believes herself hardened to domineering men – until she meets charismatic Ian Dare.  He manages to turn a simple kiss into an all out assault on her senses and when he takes control in the bedroom, she’s stunned to discover she likes it. As their affair heats up, they soon realize they complete each other in ways neither imagined.  But Riley’s past is closer than she cares to remember, and her struggles with Ian’s dominance might just cost her everything.

My  Review:

WOW, Carly does it again with another great book.

The Dare siblings are at Club Meridian celebrating their father’s birthday with his second wife…like they do every year. Ian doesn’t want to there, he still bitter over his father living a double life with two families at the same time. But he is only there for Avery & Olivia.  Riley is the best friend of Alex. She has been putting off attending this event in one way or another but Alex doesn’t take no for an answer this year. What happens when Ian and Riley “bump” into each other at the event? Riley’s job is in jeopardy when the owners sell the company to someone else, she needs to something big to save her job. Something that involves the help from Ian….But will he?

From the first chapter this book not only captivate but entertain you. Well written, easy to enjoy story with characters that are have their own hiccups.

Carly Phillips tackles tough subjects and situations in this book surprisingly well.

I am really looking forward to reading more in this series.

I received the book from the author’s assist for an honest review. I can honestly say this 4.5 stars, thank you.

How did you come up the idea for this book?

For the last year, I’ve been reading steamy, hot, erotic romances.  As I was writing the Serendipity books, I’d find pieces of overly Alpha men slipping into dialogue, love scenes … I knew I’d have to write one if I could find the time.  I found the time. J

Do listen to music while writting? If so what was it or could come up with a playlist (or a single song) that would best describe the story?

I don’t.  I’m a TV watcher, not a music listener.  I like background noise and I always have the television on.  During the week I catch the soap operas, in the evenings, my husband and I watch Tivo’d shows we miss later at night, and on the weekends I’ll look for Law and Order repeats.

What do like the most about being a writer?

I love that I can work from home.  I have been lucky enough to be able to be home to raise my kids, and I appreciate that so much.

What was your favorite book or series to write so far?

I always have a favorite from different series, sometimes more than one.  I remember Mike from Perfect Fit really stood out for me.  Then again, so did Dare Barron in Karma.  The Hot Zone series, I loved writing Riley in Hot Item.  Uncle Yank, a secondary character in that series had Macular Degeneration and I was glad to bring attention to that.  I received wonderful letters in return.  My grandma had the disease, so it meant a lot to me.  I think each time I stretch in a book/story, that becomes a favorite, so Ian in Dare to Love definitely ranks up there because I was able to just dive in and write him in the way I wanted.

What was your hardest book or series to write so far?

Honestly? My upcoming story, PERFECT TOGETHER, Sam Marsden’s story, which is the last Serendipity book, was pulled from me word by word.  In the end, I’m extremely proud of the book, even if it nearly killed me to write it.  I think I’d been in Serendipity so long (6 books and 3 novellas), it was hard to think outside the box for the characters.
