Never Giving Up…

For a long time, I was an avid reader of all stories coming from Ellora’s Cave. It was always a dream of mine to publish with them and it was an uphill battle. After five rejections, yes FIVE, I hesitated to submit Prank Me to them. I mean, a girl can only take so much rejection right?

But I did and boy am I pleased that I did! Finally, a yes, and I think I screamed the roof off my house. LOL My Editor, Julie, was thrilled with this story and immediately requested more. Which I did send her another one story that had been rejected at EC before, but totally revamped—but that’s another blog post about that particular book.

And thanks to wonderful authors who supported and encouraged me daily to never give up on my EC dream – Sara Brookes & JoAnne Kenrick – seeing my name on the cover of this book is definitely a dream come true.

So to all authors, aspiring or in the biz for a long time, from one of a legion of authors out there – never ever give up on your dream / a goal. Even when you’re down and second-guessing your talent or what publishers are looking for, just keep working, enhancing your voice and craft and push yourself harder and further.

I’m so glad I did!

KaceyPrank Me Excerpt © Kacey Hammell

A Romantica® erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

She and Bobby always had a lot of fun. They shared a twisted sense of humor. Pulling one over on his best friend was sure going to be a lot of fun. A simple bump and grind lap dance that would have him sweating. It would serve Adam right for pushing some dude on Bobby about six months ago, trying to prove Bobby was gay. She wanted to avenge her best friend, who hadn’t yet come out of the closet. They’d touched on the subject a few times but he’d adamantly refused. She’d never pushed Bobby into admitting what she suspected was the truth and to know Adam had tried to force Bobby into something he wasn’t ready for irked her.

Prank or not, she loved putting on her shit-kicker boots, dressing to kill and putting on a good show.

Teaching someone a lesson or two added to the thrill of dancing sexy again and pulling off this prank. When she was done with Adam, all he’d see was her taillights as she left him teased and confused.

Paybacks were definitely a bitch.

  1. I love all subgenres in Romance especially: Contemporary, Pararnomal, and historical (love western!).

  2. Congrats on the fab new release, Kacey.

Giving up should never be an option. I’m so glad you’re finally with your dream publisher! *hugs*

    1. Oh, and my favorite genre is historical, but I do fancy contemporary settings with BDSM content.

      1. Hi Layna!
Yes, giving up isn’t an option, while some days it’s okay to bury head under the covers and block the world out. Unfortunately, voices in my head don’t listen.

And I have such a close group of writer friends, and hubby, who will never allow me to give up. :o)

Thanks for stopping by. Always awesome to see you xxoo
