Sexy Just Got Rich

Where did you get the inspiration for your story/stories in Sexy Just Got Rich?

Lucy Felthouse:

Once myself and my fellow Babes came up with our theme I knew I wanted to really twist the billionaire theme—i.e. make it very different from Fifty Shades of Grey. Therefore, my first step was to make my billionaire a woman… then the idea that she wrote a book which sold millions of copies followed. It’s poking fun at the Fifty Shades effect a little bit, but I hope people enjoy what I’ve done with the story. In fact, the characters are ones I could definitely write more about.

Natalie Dae:

I just fancied writing a holiday romance/workers in love as I hadn’t written one before.

Kay Jaybee:

All three of my stories in SJGR were inspired by my dislike of people who use money to show off with!

In Great Expectations, I really enjoyed poking a little fun at billionaire fiction!

In The Chase I made my hero a philanthropist – albeit a very odd one.

In Words of the Marquis, the wealth of the woman involved is focused and obsessed. Her wealth is a private, secret thing – just as wealth should be.

K D Grace:

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for ‘garden porn,’ or anything set outdoors. I spent a good part of my youth living on a farm and the appeal of a man who knows how to get his hands dirty is never lost on me. I’m not keen on the stereotypical billionaire romance story, so I loved the idea of making my billionaire the hired hand. In Buying the Farm, I sort of mix two powerful romantic erotic motifs to come up with something different.

Victoria Blisse:

Have you read Genesis of a Dominant model on my blog? Take a look and you’ll work out where the inspiration for my blue eyed, dark haired hero came from.

Tabitha Rayne:

I’ve got three short stories in Sexy Just Got Rich – I’ve gone for lady billionaires. My inspiration for The White Rabbit is a grown up Alice in Wonderland with a dominatrix discovering her submissive side. Champagne and Tits was utterly inspired by champagne… and tits! You Said is a more sombre affair and is inspired by a woman who doesn’t want her illness to define her – it is an exploration into the things money can’t buy…

Lily Harlem:

I was going through a stage about hands – looking at hands, wondering what they did, how they felt, how different everyone’s were and how your lover’s hands are so special. It made me think of feeling safe and of being shown new things by hands that are up for the job and belong to someone you trust. In Safe Hands and In Expert Hands was born.

Lexie Bay:

I wanted to turn it around and make the billionaire a female.

sexyjustgotrichExcerpt from Buying the Farm by K D Grace:

When Simon came to her, she was standing with her back to the open sliding door, arms braced against the stalls they had renovated. He wanted to breed horses – not on a grand scale, but mostly as an experiment in the beginning, a part of their plan to diversify. The planning was still in the early stages, but it was filled, like most of their plans for Fielding Farm, with exciting possibilities.

‘I’m sorry, Cassie.’ For a long time he stood silhouetted in the door, his shadow stretching out before him, merging with the gloom of the barn. Then he moved to stand behind her, slipping his arms carefully around her waist, as though he feared she might turn on him. In truth, she wasn’t sure his fears weren’t justified.

At last, she relaxed and leaned her head back against his shoulders, feeling his sigh of relief, warm and humid on the soft flesh of her neck. ‘Is any of what he said true?’

‘Some of it, yes. I wanted to buy Fielding Farm. I made your father a very generous offer, one I didn’t think he could refuse.’

‘But he did.’ Her voice was little more than a whisper.

‘Well, not exactly.’ He kissed her ear and tightened his hold just slightly, not sure what her response would be. ‘He told me he wouldn’t consider any offer until I’d worked as his hired hand for six months.’

Cassie laughed in spite of herself. ‘And then he threw in the farmer’s daughter to sweeten the deal?’

He nuzzled her neck and kissed her just below her ear, sending shivers down her spine, and she pressed back against him. ‘I think he knew all along what would happen. I think he knew that when I got to know the farmer’s daughter, I’d want it all, lock stock and barrel, and buying the farm was gonna cost me way more than I expected to pay.’ One hand moved up to cup her breast and for a long second, he seemed to have lost himself in the soft flesh of her nape and along the top of her shoulder. ‘But Christ,’ he breathed against her throat, ‘it’s worth the price.’
