Contemporary erotic romance
Divorced Cherry Hartley has an embarrassment of riches. A beautiful house, a flourishing business and not one but two gorgeous men living across the street from her. Both of whom keep sending her unmistakable come-hither looks. She could pick bad boy Bryce, whose reputation in bed precedes him. Or she could choose newly arrived good guy, Gavin. Lucky for Cherry, Gavin has a sweet tooth. She knows exactly how she’d like to welcome the handsome young architect to the neighborhood…with a yummy homemade cherry tart.
About The Author
Persephone Jones lives in the piney woods of east Texas with her computer geek husband, two dogs and one cat. The only child of divorced parents, she learned early on to entertain herself by inventing imaginary worlds where the dragons are tame and the damsels don’t stress. She spends most of her time reading, writing, and listening to those pesky muses. Apparently they like horror movies, eighties music and Tex-Mex. Unfortunately muses don’t do housework. But always just in the nick of time they swoop in and rescue her with a hunky hero, a smartass heroine and a happy ending.
Her works in include contributions in two award-winning anthologies, His and Alpha’s Claim.
Hi, thank you for stopping by Persephone Jones.
Could you let us know a little about yourself, your writing and your book(s)?
Sure! I’ve been in love with the written word since I was little. Believe it or not, I started out writing horror. For several years I’ve been writing erotic romance. I’ve been published for about five years now. Two of my short stories appear in award-winning anthologies with Evernight Publishing and are currently available in print.
What inspired you to write “Cherry Tart” in this anthology?
Well I have an insatiable sweet tooth so the idea of writing about characters who understand the value of a good dessert really appealed to me. Also, I always wanted to write a steamy Southern romance and this story was perfect for that.
What was your favorite scene and/or the hardest scene to write in “Cherry Tart”? And why?
All of them. *laugh* Every scene is a challenge to get down on paper/or the screen because no matter how good a writer you are, the words are never as good as the images in your head. But you keep at it. After some thought, I would say the sex scenes are always the toughest. Achieving a balance of technical realism and sensuality should, if done well, look effortless.
Out of curiosity. What type of environment do you feel more comfortable writing in? Do you use a pen and paper, laptop? Quiet room, music or what? Dog at your feet? Cat on the desk? Early Morning? Late at night?
I write at all times of the day. I’m fortunate in that my schedule isn’t as demanding as most writers. My muse, however, can be quite persnickety. Sometimes it’s all on the computer, from start to finish. Other times, I’ll start with paper then transcribe what I have to the computer and then go from there. I love making playlists on Spotify. I find music can be incredibly inspiring. I have two dogs who are always nearby and a cat who never lets me forget when it’s time to eat.
What’s the most amusing thing that happened to you since becoming an author?
Most amusing…lemme see. That’s difficult because there’s always something cracking me up. A slip of the fingers on the keyboard can come up with some real doozies. Either that or realizing you’ve written in an extra arm or leg where they should only be two per person. Lol. If there’s one thing a writer must have, it’s a really good sense of humor. Honestly, writing isn’t always fun. Sometimes it’s more pain than pleasure. But when it all comes together, there’s nothing like seeing your work published or in print.
Thank you Persephone Jones for stopping it was real pleasure meeting you.
